My wife, Joanne and I first met Velimir and Marta when they first operated Velmar Real Estate from a small premises in Balchik. It was our second time visiting Bulgaria. The previous year we had purchased a block of land in Tsarka near Albena, and we wandered into their office just to compare prices etc. Our fleeting visit turned into an afternoon session and they showed us just about every available block in Balchik. We had visited other agencies in Balchik and were impressed with the honesty and knowledge of the local area that Velmar had. We did mention that other agencies had told us about really cheap blocks that, although presently unregulated, would be regulated the following October. Velimir told us that this was a line that certain agencies spun to all gullible off-shore buyers, and true to his word these blocks are still unregulated seven years later and are unlikely to be so.
We were so impressed with their professionalism, that we actually bought a block of land through Velmar in the villa area in Balchik. From that day on we have utilised Vel and Marta in every aspect of the development of the land. They have, with our permission, intercepted and translated all our official mail and have saved us untold fines and penalties by getting all our taxes and company fees paid on time. They sourced reliable architects, surveyors and tradesmen to build our Bulgarian House. During this time they have had power of attorney to handle all our business, including bank accounts and have done so with the utmost honesty. The quality of building is excellent and was completed at a very fair and reasonable price. During the construction they kept us informed with photographs of the progress on a weekly basis. Now that the house is almost ready for summer rentals, we will, of course leaving Velmar to handle this for us. We have watched them grow from selling property to managing, and maintaining all types of property and also project managing quite large building projects. They have even helped with the furnishing, passing on the discounts they get.
I would highly recommend Velmar to anybody wishing to buy land or build in Bulgaria. They have taken all the stress out of undertaking such a project in the sometimes harassing Bulgarian Property Industry.

As we live in the UK it was very important to find a managing agent who would look after our property and give us peace of mind whilst we were in the UK.
