Balchik is situated on the Black sea coast – near the Albena and Kranevo resorts, town of Kavarna and it is 38 km away from the town of Varna. Balchik is a part of the 100 National Tourist Sites . The town is mostly famous with the Botanical garden, where grow unique species of plants. The Botanical garden attracts together with the Castle architecture park complex, which has been a formal residence of the Romanian queen Maria in the early 20th century. Balchik is undoubtedly known for the Botanical garden and the Castle. The town is a center of numerous cultural events. Annually there are organized a lot of musical, film festivals and many others. There is a yacht port which can anchor 60 yachts. The developed yacht tourism offers variety of voyages along the Northern Black sea. At the moment in the vicinity of Balchik there are being built two golf-courses, one of which is designed by the world-famous golfer Jan Usnam.
